LEVEL 4 - ADVANCED CLINICAL SKILLS FOR SAND TRAY PLAY THERAPY (13 CE HRS.)
Prerequisite Sand Tray Play Therapy Levels 1-3 at Center for Sand Tray Play, or approved comparable training
Level 4 provides opportunities for ongoing integration of the theory and practice of sand tray play therapy while also developing advanced clinical skills for deepening the process and thus, the client’s potential for healing. In particular, participants will learn and experience the process of amplification as it applies to sand tray therapy, and will explore issues of transference and countertransference in the sand tray process.
Goals
1. To further integrate theory and practice in sand tray play therapy.
2. To learn advanced clinical skills for deepening the process of sand tray play therapy.
Objectives Workshop participants will
1. review and further integrate previously learned sand tray play therapy skills such as effective listening, holding the space, attending to the symbols and stories, and attuning to the client through the multidimensionality of the sand tray process.
2. learn and experience the process of amplification in sand tray play therapy from both the builder’s and the therapist’s perspective.
3. explore issues of transference and countertransference as they manifest in the sand tray process.
